DraftKings NBA: Tuesday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Tuesday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

Team Analysis

Defense to Avoid
Chicago Bulls
vs. Milwaukee Bucks
There are no intimidating defenses on Tuesday's short slate, but the Bulls have some advantages. They are very good at defending point guards (eighth in NBA), shooting guards (fifth) and power forwards (seventh), but they are pretty terrible defending opposing small forwards (28th) and centers (30th). However, the Bucks will be on the second night of a back-to-back after having just faced the toughest defense in the NBA, the Spurs. Thus, while Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greg Monroe have solid match-ups, the Bucks will have to work to produce Tuesday.

Offenses to Use:
Dallas Mavericks
vs. Sacramento Kings
The Kings are uniformly friendly on defense. They rank 27th against opposing point guards, 30th against shooting guards, 23rd against small forwards, 16th against power forwards and 16th against centers. The Mavericks will have a plus matchup at every position and the Kings are on the second half of a back-to-back.

Teams on Back-to-Backs
First game: Mavericks, Knicks
Second game: Warriors, Bucks, Kings

Daily Player Recommendations

Point Guard
Rajon Rondo, SAC at DAL ($8400):
Fresh off a triple-double Monday night, Rondo will face a Mavericks defense that struggles defending point guards (25th in the NBA). Rondo has scored more than 35 fantasy points in five of his last six games, and has scored more than 40 in four of those games.

Other suggestions: Shaun Livingston, GSW at LAL ($4,500) if Stephen Curry doesn't play; J.J. Barea, DAL vs SAC ($5,700) if Deron Williams doesn't play

Shooting Guard
Wesley Matthews, DAL vs. SAC ($5,000):
Matthews has made 26 3-pointers in his last seven games, has averaged 23.7 fantasy points per game over his last five, and has a matchup on Tuesday against a Kings defense that is last in the NBA at defending shooting guards.

Other suggestions: Lou Williams, LAL vs GSW ($5,700); Klay Thompson, GSW at LAL ($7,900)

Small Forward
Carmelo Anthony, NYK at ATL ($8,200):
Anthony has averaged 39.4 fantasy points per game over his last five and now faces a Hawks defense that is 24th in the NBA at defending small forwards.

Other suggestions: Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at CHI ($6,700); Andre Iguodala, GSW at LAL ($5,200)

Power Forward
Bobby Portis, CHI vs. MIL ($4,500):
Portis had scored between 25 and 33 fantasy points in three straight games leading up to Sunday's down game against the Knicks when he had just 14.5. Joakim Noah (shoulder) is still day-to-day, and if he misses out again then Portis should have a good chance to bounce back against a Bucks defense that is 27th in the NBA at defending power forwards.

Other suggestions: DeMarcus Cousins, SAC at DAL ($10,000); Paul Millsap, ATL vs NY ($8100)

Center
Greg Monroe, MIL at CHI ($6,500):
Monroe had 15 points, eight boards, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot in only 28 minutes Monday against the Spurs' top-ranked defense. He now faces a Bulls defense that is last in the NBA at defending centers, which should give him a chance to put up bigger numbers.

Other suggestions: Zaza Pachulia, DAL vs. SAC ($5,900); Andrew Bogut, GSW at LAL ($4,700)
