FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are only four games on tap for Super Bowl Sunday, all with early afternoon starting times. The Kings are the friendliest defense on the board, which could bode well for the Celtics' skill players as long as the game remains competitive. The Heat have the stingiest defense, and while the Clippers could still produce, it lowers their odds to have to face such a stifling unit.

Point Guard
Isaiah Thomas, BOS vs. SAC ($7800):
Thomas has averaged 20.5 points, 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game over his last four. On Sunday, he faces a Kings defense that is 29th against point guards, making a blowout the biggest risk to what should otherwise be a strong game for Thomas.

Shooting Guard
Avery Bradley, BOS vs. SAC ($5,500):
The Kings are last in the NBA against shooting guards, giving Bradley the best matchup on the board from that standpoint.

Arron Afflalo, NYK vs. DEN ($5,100): Afflalo has played at least 38 minutes in six of his last seven games, giving him every opportunity to produce. His only down game in that stretch was a clunker against the Warriors, but he has scored at least 22 fantasy points in every other game and his upside is higher if Carmelo Anthony sits out another game with his sore knee.

Small Forward
Danilo Gallinari, DEN at NYK ($7,100):
The Knicks actually aren't bad at defending small forwards, ranking 11th against the position. But Gallinari is hot of late, scoring at least 23 points in five of his last six games. Plus, he has the "revenge" factor of playing against a former team in Madison Square Garden, which should keep him at his best.

Evan Turner, BOS vs. SAC ($5,900): Turner is in the midst of his best stretch of the season, averaging 15.7 points, 9.3 boards, 5.0 assists, one steal and one block per game over his last three, including two double-doubles. On Sunday, he faces a friendly Kings defense with a chance to continue his strong play.

Power Forward
Kristaps Porzingis, NYK vs. DEN ($6,400):
Porzingis had been struggling of late, as he's played through injuries and illness, but on Friday he was back on his game with 17 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks against a tough Grizzlies frontline. His production was helped by Carmelo Anthony sitting out, and Anthony is questionable for Sunday's game as well.

Center
Nikola Jokic, DEN at NYK ($6,400):
Jokic has been playing good ball for a while now, averaging 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.9 blocks per game over his last seven. He has scored at least 35 fantasy points in four of his last five games, and six of his last eight.

Hassan Whiteside, MIA vs. LAC ($8,000): Whiteside has come off the bench in both games since returning from injury, but it hasn't slowed him in the slightest. He just notched another 10-block triple-double Friday, despite playing just 27 minutes. On Sunday, he faces a Clippers defense that is 24th in the NBA against centers.
