The NBA is back with a 10-game slate Sunday. FanDuel broke them down into early and main, with their main contest including the majority of the games and beginning at 6:00 p.m. EST. There are two very friendly matchups, with the Mavericks facing a weak 76ers defense and the Bulls going against the Lakers.
Point Guard
Derrick Rose, CHI vs. LAL ($6,900): Rose has played some of his best basketball of the year in his last handful of games, averaging 22.8 points, 6.3 assists and 5.8 boards per game over his last six. With Jimmy Butler out, Rose is handling a bigger role in the offense and now has an excellent matchup against a weak Lakers defense.
Shooting Guard
Rodney Hood, UTA at POR ($5,900): Hood is averaging 18.3 points, 4.3 boards, 3.5 assists and 2.3 treys per game over his last four, bracketing the All-Star break, and he has a good matchup Sunday against a Trail Blazers defense that has struggled against shooting guards this season.
Evan Fournier, ORL vs. IND ($5,300): Fournier has been starting and playing well with Tobias Harris out of the lineup, and now that Harris has been moved to Detroit, Fournier is the starter. Ersan Ilyasova's presence could eventually push into Fournier's minutes, but for now, Fournier is starting and producing.
Small Forward
Chandler Parsons, DAL vs. PHI ($6,800): Parsons is the man in Dallas. He seemed to burn out a bit entering the All-Star break, but he has come out by averaging 24.0 points with 4.5 treys, 2.5 boards, 2.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game over his last two. On Sunday he has a good matchup against a weak 76ers wing defense.
Power Forward
Derrick Favors, UTA at POR ($7,400): Favors popped for 23 points, 10 boards, six assists and three blocks Friday against the Celtics, and on Sunday he has another good matchup against a Trail Blazers defense that has had difficulty with power forwards this season.
Nerlens Noel, PHI at DAL ($7,100): Noel is too tall and athletic for Dirk Nowitzki to handle, and he should do his customary good job on the boards and on defense. He also demonstrated a surprisingly strong offensive game in his first game back after the All-Star break, dropping 24 points on Anthony Davis and the Pelicans.
Center
Pau Gasol, CHI vs. LAL ($8,900): Gasol is coming off a strong 18-point, 11-rebound, nine-assist near-triple-double in his last game against a solid Raptors defense. On Sunday, he gets a crack at the soft underbelly of his former team's defense, and the Lakers have been making opposing centers happy all season.
