FantasyDraft NBA: Weekly Value Plays

FantasyDraft NBA: Weekly Value Plays

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NBA series.

Each week, RotoWire will provide value plays for your daily fantasy basketball lineups on FantasyDraft. Users have a salary cap of $100,000 to select a lineup comprised of three guards, three forwards/centers and two utility players.

FantasyDraft is running NBA contests each and every day. There are 50/50s, guaranteed tournaments and more available options in the lobby, so be sure to check it out. With contests at every entry fee level, there are a ton of options to choose from.

The target for each player to reach value is 2.5x the player's salary. If a player costs $10,000 against the cap, expected value is 25 fantasy points.

Shelvin Mack ($11,300)
Mack has led the Jazz to five wins in their last six by averaging 16.8 points, 8.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game, so expect Utah to continue giving its second Butler standout plenty of minutes down the stretch. He's yet to score fewer than 35.0 fantasy points in a game over that span, easily outplaying his $11,300 price tag. That's a decent deal for any starting point guard, but especially one as hot as Mack.

Andrew Wiggins ($11,300)
With a minimum of 34.5 fantasy points scored in seven of his last eight games, Wiggins has been an offensive catalyst during Minnesota's almost-respectable 3-5 stretch. The Timberwolves have nothing better to do but develop their young talent through extended minutes and opportunities throughout the rest of the season, and the 2014 first overall pick fits that agenda to a T.

Dirk Nowitzki ($12,600)
Nowitzki is as competitive as they come, so it's no wonder he's picked up the pace down the stretch with his Mavericks clinging to a playoff berth for dear life. The ageless German's 44.0 fantasy points per game over his last eight are indicative of his desire to make the postseason, and he should continue to easily outpace his salary as the Mavericks throw caution to the wind and play the veteran big minutes night in and night out.

Avery Bradley ($9,700)
Bradley has snapped out of his shooting slump in a big way, topping the 20-point mark in each of Boston's last two games. The tenacious guard was playing extensive minutes thanks to his defensive prowess even when his shots weren't falling, but re-adding more offensive touch to his repertoire takes Bradley to a whole new level as a fantasy commodity, as evidenced by his 40.0 fantasy point per game average in the past two.

Notable Injuries

Kevin Love (illness), Questionable
Love missed Monday night's matchup with the Nuggets due to illness, but his questionable label suggests he's not far from a return. While Channing Frye saw a slight bump in playing time to provide spacing Monday, his minutes are expected to fall back down as soon as Love is back in the lineup.

Chandler Parsons (knee), Out For Season
Parsons is expected to undergo season-ending surgery after a Monday MRI revealed a tear in his right meniscus. Dallas is thin on the wing, so expect Wesley Matthews to play massive minutes down the stretch, with the Mavericks also utilizing two point guard lineups as they look to hold off the Jazz for the eighth spot in the West.

Kenneth Faried (back), Day-to-Day
Faried has missed three straight games after being limited to just 15 minutes on Mar. 15 due to a back injury. There were reports that he would be ready to return Monday, which suggests that Darrell Arthur's time as the fill-in starter at power forward is drawing to a close.

Jeff Green (face), Day-to-Day
Green has begun exhibiting concussion-like symptoms after suffering a facial laceration against his former employers in Memphis. He was listed as questionable Sunday, but the tricky nature of head injuries makes it tough to speculate on whether he'll be able to return by the Clippers' next game. Look for Paul Pierce and Wesley Johnson to split Green's minutes while he recovers.

Anthony Davis (knee/shoulder), Out 4-5 Months
Davis will miss the rest of the season, as he will need multiple surgeries to repair a left knee injury in addition to a torn labrum in his left shoulder. This news is just the latest blow to a Pelicans team that has been decimated by injuries all season. With almost all viable offensive alternatives out of the lineup, Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson (groin) will have to carry the scoring load by default.

Tyson Chandler (back), Day-to-Day
Chandler left Monday's game after playing just 12 minutes due to back spasms. Considering the veteran center had played at least 30 minutes in three of his previous four appearances, any extended absence would free up significant playing time for Jon Leuer, as well as Alex Len if the Suns choose to increase the youngster's already-hefty workload.
