FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Point Guards:

Damian Lillard, POR vs. SAC ($8,500): Basketball fans know how good Lillard has been this season and a matchup like this looks like easy money. Portland faces off against Sacramento, who not only rank as the worst defense in the league but also play at the fastest pace. Lillard has seen his price drop recently because of two subpar outings, but it makes him even more intriguing here. In his only game against the Kings, he tallied 15 points, 13 assists and five rebounds. With the Blazers still battling to get into the playoffs, look for Lillard to play a ton of minutes at a discounted price in a fantastic matchup.

Raymond Felton, DAL at DEN ($4,100): Felton has been starting since an injury to Chandler Parsons and playing very well. It's not only the Parsons injury that is benefiting Felton though, as point guard Deron Williams is now injured as well. Felton has scored 29 fantasy points in four of his last seven games and has played 35 minutes or more in his last two. The minutes are a near guarantee at this point with the lack of depth and it makes Felton a hell of a bargain at just $4,100. If that's not enough incentive, he has a great matchup against a bad Nuggets defense.

Shooting Guards:

Dwyane Wade, MIA vs. BRK ($7,000): Wade has quietly been solid all season. The shooting guard is averaging about 32 fantasy points a game, which is nearly 5X value in itself. He continues to be undervalued and it's hard to figure why. The matchup is what's most enticing though, as he faces a Nets defense that ranks 25th in fantasy points allowed to shooting guards. With Miami battling for playoff positioning, look for Wade to play 30-plus minutes and provide great value in a must win.

Wesley Matthews, DAL at DEN ($4,400): Mathews has also been a beneficiary of the Parsons and Williams injuries. The shooting guard is averaging just shy of 30 fantasy points a game across his last four games and playing a ton of minutes. In fact, he is playing 37 minutes a game across his last five games, which is the highest since his days in Portland. Not to mention, the Nuggets allow the third-most fantasy points to shooting guards on the season. This $4,400 price has not adjusted to his recent form and now's the time to jump on him before he inevitably rises above $5,000.

Small Forwards:

Gordon Hayward, UTA vs. LAL ($7,000): Hayward hasn't been playing his best ball recently, but this sort of matchup is too hard to pass up. Not only do the Lakers rank 29th in total defense, they allow the second-most fantasy points to small forwards on the season. In addition, Hayward is averaging over 33 fantasy points in his two previous meetings against the Lakers. Utah is also one of those teams fighting to get into the playoffs, so look for them to lean on Hayward in another must win situation.

P.J. Tucker, PHX at MIN ($4,800): DFS owners tend to avoid Tucker because he never provides elite statistics, but he's as solid as anyone under $5,000 right now. Tucker is averaging 11.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals over his last seven games. That's nearly 30 fantasy points a game, which is great value for his cheap price. This matchup is nothing to be scared of either, with the Timberwolves ranking as one of the worst defenses in the league.

Power Forwards:

Kristaps Porzingis, NYK at NOP ($6,700): Porzingis hit a bit of a rookie wall last month, but he appears to be rediscovering his early season form. Not only has he scored 27 or more fantasy points in five-straight games, he's averaging 35 minutes a game in that span as well. That's what's been frustrating, as he always produces when he gets the minutes. The icing on the cake here is the matchup though, with the Pelicans ranking as one of the five-worst defenses in the league. Not to mention, New Orleans is extremely shorthanded at the position in which Porzingis plays and he should be able to abuse whoever they decide to put in there.

Alex Len, PHX at MIN ($6,100): Len has taken over starting center duties in Phoenix and he continues to be a good value at power forward on FanDuel. Len has scored 22 or more fantasy points in 16 of his last 18 games and has turned into a double-double machine. What makes him enticing here is that Tyson Chandler and Jon Leuer are injured, so that means Len will have to play extended minutes. The in-game factor is interesting as well, as Len will want to show Karl-Anthony Towns that he can play with any big man, no matter how high-profile they are.

Center:

Rudy Gobert, UTA vs. LAL ($5,500): Nothing about how Gobert has been playing makes me want to play him, but his price drop and matchup make him worth a shot. Gobert has seen his price drop nearly $2,000 from when he was an elite center, but he still has the ability to double-double and block five-plus shots on any given night. The matchup is what is most intriguing though, as the Lakers allow 15.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks a game to centers, which is one of the worst marks in the league. With the upside that Gobert presents in a matchup like this, he's hard not to stick in at least one tournament lineup and hope for a monster night at a discounted price.
