Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

GUARD

Reggie Jackson, DET vs. CLE ($27) - Although the Pistons have lost their first three playoff games, it's not for a lack of effort from Jackson. In the three games against the Cavs, Jackson is averaging 35 fantasy points a game and has not scored less than 30 in that span. However, he is averaging less than 15 shots a game, which means he is providing fantasy production through other sources. Cleveland's one weakness on defense is at point guard with Kyrie Irving playing lackluster defense. Look for Jackson to play a ton of minutes and carry the offensive load in a do-or-die game.

Kyle Korver, ATL at BOS ($11) -
Korver is playing some of his best ball of the season in this series, averaging just shy of 30 fantasy points a game in his last two. In each of those games, he hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 points. In the series, Korver has taken at least seven 3-pointers in each game and is averaging more than 30 minutes a game. It's clear that his role is back to where it was prior, and his price drop makes him enticing.

Guard to Avoid:

Tony Parker, SAN at MEM ($20) - It's been an ugly series between the Grizzlies and Spurs and it's made Parker irrelevant for fantasy. San Antonio simply doesn't need Parker in this series, and it's evident by his production. Not only is Parker averaging less than 17 fantasy points a game, he has yet to play more than 24 minutes in any game. It's clear the Spurs are saving their point guard for the next round, which makes him off limits for DFS.

FORWARD

Jae Crowder, BOS vs. ATL ($24) - While Crowder is averaging less than seven points a game in the playoffs, he is still providing fantasy production. In fact, Crowder has scored at least 24 fantasy points in all three playoff games. Even with his shot in the dumps, Crowder has shown that he can give us fantasy value through hustle stats, and if he can just find his jumper, he would become even more of a value. Having a floor match your price is good value as it is, and it's even more promising when the player is doing that while struggling with his shot.

Donatas Motiejunas, HOU vs. GS ($10) -
Motiejunas got a surprise start in Game 3 and had one of his best games of the season, posting a double-double for 36.6 fantasy points at a minimum price. With the Warriors going to small ball, the Rockets are playing Motiejunas more, making him fantasy relevant yet again. Using the minimum-priced Motiejunas, who happens to have a high ceiling, will allow you to get players like Stephen Curry and James Harden into your lineups.

Forward to Avoid:

Trevor Ariza, HOU vs. GS ($21) - It's unclear what's wrong with Ariza, but he's not playing well. Not only has he failed to reach double figures in scoring in the playoffs, he is averaging 18 fantasy points across his last four games. In that span, Ariza is averaging 6.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.3 blocks on 26 percent shooting. The only thing that's saving him is his 2.3 steals per game. The lack of counting stats is worrisome. Ariza certainly has the ability to drop 40-plus fantasy points, but he's too hard to trust the way he's playing.

CENTER

Al Horford, ATL at BOS ($29) - Center is a crapshoot on this small slate, and using a reliable player like Horford is the only way to go. Andre Drummond and Horford are the only two centers playing Sunday who are doing anything, and Horford is outplaying Drummond at a cheaper price. Horford is averaging more than 40 fantasy points a game in this series and is abusing the one weakness that the Celtics have. Boston actually ranked 22nd in fantasy points to centers this season, and it's clear the Hawks want to abuse that weakness. Look for Horford to get plenty of minutes and plenty of shots.

Center to Avoid:

Jared Sullinger, BOS vs. ATL ($18) - Sullinger got bumped out of the starting lineup for Game 3, and it appears he's falling out of the rotation altogether. Jonas Jerebko started for Sullinger and posted a double-double in an impressive performance. What's equally as concerning is that Sullinger is barely playing off the bench, as he has yet to play more than 19 minutes in any playoff game this season. Sullinger is averaging less than 10 fantasy points a game over his last two, and it's clear his role has nearly disappeared. This makes Sullinger off limits, and it makes Jerebko an interesting play at a minimum price.
