FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

The NBA has six games on tap Sunday, but per usual they are spread out over the day. There are two early games at 12:00 PM and 3:30 ET, a game at 7 PM, then three more at 9 PM ET or later. FanDuel is offering three sets of games: a whole day option including all six games (few contests, smallest prizes), an early-only option with two games (oddly, the 3:30 and 7:00 game, not the nooner), and a "main" option including the four games that begin at 7 PM. Most of the contests and the biggest prizes are for the "main" later games, though in this article all six games were considered.

Russell Westbrook, OKC vs IND ($11,500): Westbrook is the highest-priced player on the board, but he also has by-far the highest scoring potential of anyone playing Sunday. Westbrook is averaging 56 fantasy points per game this season, and he's reached or surpassed that average in four of his last five games. Facing a Pacers defense that is 24th in the NBA at limiting production to opposing point guards, he's a good bet to explode (as always).

C.J. McCollum, POR at BKN ($7400): McCollum has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five and six of his last eight games, and has averaged 25 points with 4.5 assists and 3.5 boards over his last two games. The Nets are beatable on the perimeter, so he should be able to get his.

Lou Williams, LAL vs CHI ($4900): Williams is a metronome of value. Outside of a disastrous outing against the Nets last week, Williams has scored at least 25.9 fantasy points in eight straight games. In his last outing he scored 24 points with three boards, three assists, two steals and two treys against the Spurs.

Kristaps Porzingis, NY vs ATL ($7200): Porzingis has gotten into the zone, averaging 25 points with 8.3 boards, 2.3 combined steals/blocks and 2.0 assists over his last three games to outperform his current price tag.

Julius Randle, LAL vs CHI ($6700): Randle has developed into a strong all-around threat. In his last four outings he has three games of double-digit points, three games of at least nine boards, and three games of at least seven assists. The Lakers have a big group of guards that score more-so than distribute, which has allowed Randle to slide into a point-power-forward slot that makes him a much stronger fantasy threat.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, BKN vs POR ($4000): This spot was between Hollis-Jefferson and Andre Roberson. Roberson has been more consistent, with between 21.4 and 28.8 fantasy points in four of his last five games. Hollis-Jefferson is more inconsistent, with two single-digit fantasy points efforts in the last week, but he also peaks higher with a 42.6 and a 37.6 fantasy points effort in his last seven games. Both are players that rely on rebounding and defensive stats to bolster their production, as their offensive stats are inconsistent and moderate at best.

DeMarcus Cousins, SAC vs TOR ($10,200): Cousins has been in the zone of late, averaging 30.6 points with 10.4 boards, 4.8 assists, 1.8 treys and 2.8 combined steals and blocks over his last five games. There really aren't any other centers in his class going on Sunday.

Rudy Gobert, UTA at DEN ($6500): Gobert entered Saturday playing well, averaging 10.8 points with 10.8 boards, 2.4 blocks and 1.0 steals over the previous five games. Then, on Saturday he upped those numbers for 12 points, 14 boards, four blocks and two steals against the Rockets. The Nuggets don't have any bigs that should be capable of stopping him from playing his game Sunday.

Mason Plumlee, POR at BKN ($5300): Plumlee has scored at least 25.1 fantasy points in five straight games, and is coming off his best game in weeks with a 13-point, 12-rebound, seven-assist effort Friday against the Pelicans. Double-double potential with five-plus assists makes Plumlee a good option for his price tag.
