FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

After a small three-game slate Sunday, we get a full 11-game schedule for Monday. Now that football is over, all DFS eyes will be fixated on basketball (and hockey), which means a lot of amateurs will be in the field. That's the best time to get involved with FanDuel, as its far easier to profit against weaker competition.

Devin Booker, PHX at NOP ($7,100): Booker has taken his game to another level recently and he's turning into one of the best scorers in the NBA. Not only does he have at least 35 fantasy points in three straight games, Booker has surpassed 29 fantasy points in 14 of his last 15. That's incredible production for a guy that relies heavily on his jumper, and he should be able to add to those numbers in this matchup. The Pelicans are allowing shooting guards to average 22.9 points per game, which is the fourth highest mark in the league.

D'Angelo Russell, LAL at NYK ($6,500): Russell just returned from injury last week and appears ready to have a monster second half of the season. In his first three games back from injury, Russell has scored at least 38 fantasy points in each, while flirting with triple-doubles in every outing. That shows his versatility as a player and makes him extremely valuable for DFS purposes. The best part about this play is the matchup though, with the Knicks ranking 23rd in defensive efficiency and having one of the worst defensive point guard combos in the league.

Yogi Ferrell, DAL at DEN ($5,600): Ferrell has taken over starting point guard duties in the absence of Deron Williams and is putting up some gaudy numbers. In his four starts, Ferrell has played at least 36 minutes in every game and is averaging 31 fantasy points a game as well. That's monster production for a $5,600 player and as long as Williams is out, Ferrell is a guarantee for 5X value. The icing on the cake is the matchup though, with Denver allowing the second-most fantasy points to point guards this season.

Kristaps Porzingis, NYK vs. LAL ($6,600): Porzingis is yet another player who has seen his price diminished from injury and now's the time to hop on the Porzingis train before his price inevitably rises. With at least 25 fantasy points in five straight games, it appears Porzingis is finally starting to get healthy and he should be ready to go off for a monster game sooner rather than later. This may be the perfect time to do just that, as he faces a Lakers defense that allows the most fantasy points to power forwards this season. In addition, Joakim Noah is expected to miss this game, so that means more minutes, shots, rebounds and usage for Porzingis.

T.J. Warren, PHX at NOP ($4,200): Warren has outperformed this price on many occasions this season and his role is just too big for such a tiny price tag. Not only has he played at least 37 minutes in his last two games, he's scored at least 27 fantasy points in each of those outings as well. The minutes along with the fact that he's taken 31 shots combined in those two games makes his upside way too high to pass up at just $4,200.

Matt Barnes, SAC vs. CHI ($3,800): Barnes is in a similar circumstance as Warren, as he's playing way too many minutes for his price. What's different with him is the fact that he has to play with all the injuries at wing for Sacramento, with Garrett Temple and Rudy Gay both injured for the Kings. That has led to him playing 31 minutes a game across his last four and averaging 26 fantasy points per outing. That's straight obliteration of his $3,800 price tag and it makes him the best value play of the day. What's also encouraging is the fact that he's used as the shutdown defender, so he may be asked to approach 40 minutes to counter Jimmy Butler.

Andre Drummond, DET PHI ($8,500): Drummond is coming off a stinker in his most recent game, but he had been averaging 46 fantasy points across his previous four. It's his rebounding and defense that's really made him a stud, as he provides elite blocks and steals while approaching 20 rebounds on a nightly basis. The matchup is great, too, as Drummond will face a Philly defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to centers this season.

Willy Hernangomez, NYK vs. LAL ($5,300): When Hernangomez plays big minutes, he puts up big production. In fact, Hernangomez has scored at least 35 fantasy points in the last five games where he's played at least 24 minutes. That threshold seems like a near guarantee here too, as starting center Joakim Noah is going to be out for this game. Those amazing numbers don't even consider the fantastic matchup, as the Lakers are allowing the second most fantasy points to centers this season.

Robin Lopez, CHI at SAC ($4,700): Lopez has been underpriced on DFS sites all season while being surprisingly effective. Over his last three games, Lopez is averaging over 29 fantasy points and playing monster minutes. While the matchup against DeMarcus Cousins appears tough on the surface, it actually benefits someone like Lopez. The reason for that is the fact that he's the only big on the Bulls' roster who can match up with Cousins, and that should allow him to approach 30-plus minutes, as long as he can avoid foul trouble.
