DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheeet

DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheeet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

There are five games on the NBA schedule to round out the week Sunday, one of which begins in the afternoon. That leaves four games to pick from for your DraftKings entry. Here are some players to consider across the price scale to hopefully end your week on a high note.

Guards

Stephen Curry, GS at MIA ($9,400): Curry (hand) is listed as probable for this game, so expect him to take the floor. He's been very consistent of late, scoring at least 43.8 DraftKings points in six of his last seven games. Despite being on a roster loaded with talent, Curry leads the Warriors with a 30.9 percent usage rate, which is seventh-best in the NBA. Don't expect the Heat to be able to slow him down Sunday.

Jordan Clarkson, LAL vs. HOU ($5,200): Clarkson continues to have a major role in the Lakers offense as he has attempted at least 12 shots in four straight games. His 27.8 percent usage rate puts him in the top-25 in the NBA, which is great news considering both the Lakers and Rockets are in the top-eight in the league in pace of play. Starting point guard Lonzo Ball battled calf tightness Saturday against the Denver Nuggets, so Clarkson would get a huge boost if he wasn't able to play or is limited Sunday. Even if Ball does play, you should still consider playing Clarkson.

Josh Richardson, MIA vs. GS ($4,600): Richardson is coming off his best offensive performance of the season as he scored 27 points and hit three three-pointers Friday against the Charlotte Hornets. With Hassan Whiteside (knee) out again Sunday, the Heat need all the offensive help they can get from Richardson. Considering the Warriors play at the fifth-fastest pace (104) in the NBA, Richardson could provide excellent value at this price.

Forwards

Kevin Durant, GS at MIA ($9,100): Like Curry, Durant (ankle) is also listed as probable for this game. With the expectation that he will play, he should again provide value for your lineup as he has an extremely high floor and his 28.4 percent usage rate is inside the top-20 in the league. He scored 48 DraftKings points when these two teams met earlier this month, so take a look at him again Sunday.

James Johnson, MIA vs. GS ($5,700): Johnson's scoring is slightly down this season, but he's made up for it by averaging career-highs in both rebounds (5.2) and assists (4.3) per game. The main reason for his decrease in scoring is that he has taken almost two less shots per game. One of his best games of the season came in his previous meeting against the Warriors when he scored 49.8 DraftKings points. At this price, he's worth putting in your lineup based on his upside.

Kelly Olynyk, MIA vs. GS ($4,500): Olynyk and Bam Adebayo are tasked with trying to pick up the slack with Whiteside out. Olynyk played 30 minutes against the Hornets Friday, finishing with 23 DraftKings points. He will likely be in for a bigger role than Adebayo on Sunday based on the small lineups that the Warriors like to use, making him worth the risk at this cheap price.

Centers

Clint Capela, HOU at LAL ($7,100): Capela is having the best season of his career as he is averaging 13.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. That's impressive considering he is still only averaging 26 minutes per contest. The Rockets like to play small, leaving Capela with the lion's share of rebounds. The Lakers allow the sixth–most DraftKings points (53.8) to opposing centers, making Capela a great play Sunday.

Steven Adams, OKC vs. SA ($5,600): To say Adams was efficient in his last game is an understatement as he scored 27 points on 11-of-11 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. He's going to get every opportunity to produce as the Thunder lack size and depth in general on their roster. The Spurs are a tough opponent, but Adams managed to score 29.5 DraftKings points when these same teams faced off earlier this month, so there is potential here.

Montrezl Harrell LAC at MIN ($3,800): Harrell has started and played at least 21 minutes in both of the last two games with Blake Griffin (knee) out of action. While he hasn't blown anyone away, he did score at least 19 DraftKings points in both games. He should be needed to log heavy minutes Sunday against a big Timberwolves frontcourt, making him a great cheap option in tournament play.
