FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards

Chris Paul, HOU at DET ($10,100): With James Harden (hamstring) out of the lineup, Paul is now solely in control of one most point guard heavy offenses in NBA history. Not only is he going to pick up all of Harden's touches, but Paul is already playing some sparkling ball. In fact, Paul is averaging over 41 fantasy points per game for the season, as he's scored at least 39 fantasy points in every game since Harden went down. Detroit is really struggling against point guards recently, as they've allowed at least 45 fantasy points to Ben Simmons and Goran Dragic in their last two games.

Jrue Holiday, NOP at MIN ($7,000): Holiday's price has gone down for some reason, despite the fact that he's playing superbly right now. Holiday has only scored less than 26 fantasy points once in his last 19 games, averaging just shy of 40 fantasy points per game in that span. What makes him particularly enticing on FanDuel is that he's shooting guard-eligible, though he's a true point guard at heart. The matchup is far from unappealing, with Minnesota sitting 22nd in defensive efficiency.

Ish Smith, DET vs. HOU ($6,000): When Reggie Jackson (ankle) is out of the lineup, Smith becomes one of the go-to fill-ins. In the four games he's started in Jackson's place, Smith is averaging just shy of 30 fantasy points per game. Houston is a great matchup for a speedster like Smith as well, as their eighth-ranked pace should suit him perfectly.

Forwards

LeBron James, CLE at ORL ($11,700): James is coming off a disappointing game in his most recent outing, but his 54.4 fantasy points per game show just how dominant he's been. What makes him an enticing option here is the matchup, as he faces an Orlando defense that's struggling mightily. Not only do the Magic rank 27th in defensive efficiency, but they are allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards.

Wilson Chandler, DEN at SAC ($5,500): Chandler has been playing much better over recent weeks, as his price has not risen to where it should be. In fact, Chandler is averaging 25 fantasy points per game across his last 12 games, as he's regularly playing over 30 minutes a game. That sort of role becomes particularly intriguing in this sort of matchup. As he faces a Kings defense who rank dead-last in defensive efficiency.

Ryan Anderson, HOU at DET ($4,700): Anderson can make fantasy owners pull their hair out with his inconsistent play, but it's his upside that truly makes him an interesting DFS option. With an average of over 20 fantasy points per game for the season, Anderson is a great bet to exceed 5X value. The fact that Harden is out of the lineup only adds to Anderson's value, as he should see more minutes and more shots in his absence. Detroit really struggles against big men who shoot from outside, as the Pistons are allowing more than two three-pointers a game to opposing power forwards, tied for the fifth-worst mark in the league.

Centers

Myles Turner, IND vs. CHI ($6,600): Turner has been a big disappointment for season-long fantasy owners, but it's lowered his price to this intriguing number, for DFS purposes. Before his most recent five-game slump, Turner was approaching 35 fantasy points per game for the season, which is over 5X value at this price. It's the matchup that makes him a good bet to reach that threshold, as he faces a Chicago defense that struggles to contain opposing centers. In fact, the Bulls are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing centers across their last 10 games.

Marcin Gortat, WSH vs. MIL ($4,700): Gortat hasn't lived up to expectations this season, but he's much better than this price would indicate. The 24.3 fantasy points per game prove just that, as that's already exceeding 5X value. He's in the midst of a minor hot streak, averaging 29 fantasy points per game in his last two outings.
