DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

There are seven games in the NBA on Sunday, but only four of them make up the main slate on DraftKings. While there aren't as many options to choose from as usual, there is still a great opportunity to create a winning entry. Here are some players to consider for your lineup who have favorable matchups.

Guards

Russell Westbrook, OKC vs. PHI ($11,800): Westbrook has one of the highest ceilings in DFS, which he has shown by scoring at least 64 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. With the second-highest usage rate in the league (35.1%), that's not going to change anytime soon. He crushed the Sixers in their first meeting this season, finishing with 27 points, 17 rebounds, 15 assists and two steals. The game went into triple-overtime, but that's still a monster performance. He will eat up a significant portion of your budget, but should be worth it Sunday.

Dejounte Murray, SA vs. SAC ($5,800): Murray has started the last four games for the Spurs, scoring at least 26.5 DraftKings points in each contest. While his offensive game isn't off the charts, he's been an excellent rebounder, averaging 7.5 rebounds in those four starts. His price is steadily rising, but it's still low enough Sunday to leave him with value.

De'Aaron Fox, SAC at SA ($5,100): The youth movement is in full swing in Sacramento, with Fox logging at least 30 minutes in four of his last five games. The only game he didn't was one he left early due to an injury. He's healthy heading into Sunday's game against the Spurs, having scored at least 24.8 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. The Spurs are a tough defensive team, but Fox has a large enough role and is priced low enough to still be someone worth considering for your entry.

Forwards

DeMar DeRozan, TOR vs. LAL ($8,600): DeRozan is in a bit of a shooting slump, shooting just 39.1 percent from the field in his last four games. He still gets plenty of opportunities to produce with his 30 percent usage rate though, resulting in at least 37.8 DraftKings points in three of those four games. Sunday brings an excellent matchup against the Lakers as they play at the fastest pace (103.2 possessions per game) and allow the fourth-most points per game (109.7) in the league.

Dario Saric, PHI at OKC ($6,300): The Sixers have relied heavily on Saric when Joel Embiid has been forced to miss games this year and he's done an excellent job stepping up in those situations. Embiid is healthy now, which limits Saric's upside to an extent. However, he's still a valuable option to consider, scoring at least 31.5 DraftKings points in five straight games. The Thunder are a different team defensively with Andre Roberson (knee) out, so this could be a high scoring affair with the Sixers playing at the second-fastest pace (102.4) in the league.

Zach Randolph, SAC at SA ($4,900): While the Kings want to give increased playing time to their young players, they will be without one of them in Willie Cauley-Stein (knee) on Sunday. Skal Labissiere is also dealing with a shoulder injury, so look for Randolph to see plenty of action in this game. His 27.5 percent usage rate ranks highest on the team, so all he needs is minutes to be productive.

Centers

Andre Drummond, DET at CLE ($9,900): Drummond has had a couple of off scoring performances lately, but he still provides a high floor with at least 10 rebounds in nine straight games. He gets to face the struggling Cavaliers on Sunday, who recently made some changes to their starting five. While Tristan Thompson is starting now, slowing down Drummond is no easy task. The Cavaliers have had problems defending centers all season, leaving Drummond with a high upside in this game.

Jonas Valanciunas, TOR vs. LAL ($5,700): Valanciunas has shown what he can do when given consistent minutes, scoring at least 31.3 DraftKings points in four of his last five games. He played at least 24 minutes in all four games. The problem is, he showed his tremendous downside in the other contest, scoring just 4.8 DraftKings points in 11 minutes. If he can stay on the floor Sunday, he could provide excellent value at this price. It's tough to use him in a cash game, but he could be a viable option in tournament play.

Tristan Thompson, CLE vs. DET ($4,400): Thompson played well in a start Friday against the Pacers, scoring 27 DraftKings points in 31 minutes. He should be the starter going forward and the Cavaliers will likely need him to log heavy minutes again Sunday in a battle with Drummond. He won't cost much, but he has an opportunity to out produce his price point based on his new role.
