Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Guards

Goran Dragic, MIA vs. PHI ($25): Dragic has been incredible recently and it's hard to understand why his price hasn't reached $30. Dragic is averaging 36.5 fantasy points in his last four outings, and he's scored at least 45 fantasy points in three of his last eight games. Philly is a defense worth exploiting, as they allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing point guards.

Nicolas Batum, CHA vs. CHI ($23): Batum has been a different player over the last two months, as he's clearly over the elbow issue that hampered him early in the season. Not only does he have at least 30 fantasy points in four straight games, but Batum is averaging over 30 fantasy points per game in his last 19 outings. It's the matchup that really makes him intriguing, though, as he faces a Bulls' defense that ranks 25th in total defense, while allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards.

Guard to Avoid

Jerian Grant, CHI at CHA ($16): Grant was great when filling in for Kris Dunn, but he's early impossible to use now that Dunn's back. Dunn is back to playing a full complement of minutes, and Grant has seen his role drop exponentially. In fact, he played fewer than three minutes against the Timberwolves over the weekend and didn't play against the Nets on Monday.

Forwards

Markieff Morris, WSH at MIL ($18): Morris has seen his minutes and shots increase since John Wall (knee) got injured and it really shows in his fantasy production. Not only has he surpassed at least 21 fantasy points in 12 straight games, but he's averaging 29.4 fantasy points per game in that span. That's unbelievable production from an $18 player.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, CHA vs. CHI ($10): MKG is far from a fantasy stud, but he's too good to be a minimum priced player. His 19.7 fantasy points per game for the season further that point, as that's already nearly 2X value at this price. He's averaging over 25 minutes per game across his last 21 games, and he faces a Bulls team Tuesday that ranks 25th in total defense.

Forwards to Avoid

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, BRK at CLE ($22): Hollis-Jefferson just recently returned from injury and Coach Kenny Atkinson said that he'll ease the forward back into action. Hollis-Jefferson was limited to 20 minutes Monday night, and it's tough to imagine him taking on a drastically larger workload on the second night of a back-to-back. Plus, it's not like Hollis-Jefferson was playing up to value when healthy either, as he failed to crack 25 fantasy points in five of his previous six games before the injury.

Centers

Jusuf Nurkic, POR vs. SAC ($21): Nurkic is on fire right now and it's hard to understand why his price is so cheap. He's putting up 38 fantasy points per game in his last three outings, and he's scored at least 40 fantasy points in six of his last 16 games. That's incredible upside from a $21 player, and he has a strong matchup Tuesday, with Sacramento ranking 29th in defensive efficiency.

Center to Avoid

Willie Cauley-Stein, SAC at POR ($25): This price is a little too much for someone who's not providing great value, as Cauley-Stein has one of the toughest matchups on the slate Tuesday. He's only reached 32 fantasy points twice in his last nine outings, and he's played fewer than 31 minutes in eight of his last 10 games. Portland is a tough frontcourt to play against, as well, considering they rank seventh in both defensive efficiency and points allowed.
