FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Monday brings only five games in the NBA, leaving you with fewer options than normal for your FanDuel entry. Injuries continue to pile up around the league, which does at least leave some extra value plays available even on a limited slate. Here are some players with favorable matchups who could potentially help you create a winning entry.

Guards

Terry Rozier, BOS at PHO ($7,100): Rozier dominated the Kings on Sunday, finishing with 57.5 FanDuel points. He was hot offensively, scoring 33 points and hitting eight three-pointers. He's seeing heavy playing time with Kyrie Irving (knee) out and has scored at least 30.9 FanDuel points in five of his last six games. The Suns play at the second-fastest pace (102.9 possessions per game) and allow the most points per game (113.9) in the league, likely leaving Rozier with plenty of opportunities to provide value again Monday.

Andrew Harrison, MEM at MIN ($5,800): The Grizzlies will be without Tyreke Evans (personal) on Monday, who has already missed three of the previous four games. Harrison played well with Evans sidelined, scoring at least 35.2 FanDuel points in two of those contests. Harrison has taken advantage of added playing time, averaging 17.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, five assists, one steal and 1.6 three-pointers in 12 games where he has logged at least 30 minutes this season. He should have an opportunity to at least approach that threshold again with Evans out.

Luke Kennard, DET vs. LAL ($4,600): Kennard is coming on strong down the stretch for the Pistons, scoring at least 25.8 FanDuel points in three straight games. The Pistons have been giving him more playing time, resulting in Kennard logging at least 27 minutes in seven of his last nine games. Stanley Johnson (glute) was injured in the team's last game Saturday against the Bulls and his status is uncertain for Monday. If he is unable to take the floor, Kennard could see added playing time, giving him upside for your entry.

Forwards

Blake Griffin, DET vs. LAL ($8,800): Griffin scored just 24.2 FanDuel points Saturday against the Bulls, but was only needed for 26 minutes in a blowout win. Entering that game, he had scored at least 49.3 FanDuel points in three straight contests. He gets a great matchup Monday against the Lakers, who play at the fastest pace (103) in the league. Look for a rebound performance from Griffin.

Kyle Kuzma, LAL at DET ($6,600):Brandon Ingram (groin) is slowly making progress, but he won't play again Monday. Kuzma has seen plenty of minutes with Ingram out, resulting in him scoring at least 33 FanDuel points in four of his last five games. The Lakers will be without Isaiah Thomas (hip) on Monday as well, opening up another significant hole in their offense. Expect Kuzma to have an expanded role again Monday, making him a viable option at this reasonable price.

Dwayne Bacon, CHA vs. NY ($3,600): Nicolas Batum (Achilles) has missed the last four games for the Hornets and is listed as questionable for Monday. Bacon logged at least 22 minutes in each of the previous four games that Batum missed, scoring at least 21.8 FanDuel points twice. Batum was actually injured in the Hornets last game against these Knicks, a contest where Bacon played 18 minutes and scored 26.7 FanDuel points. If Batum doesn't play Monday, Bacon might be worth taking a chance on in tournament play.

Centers

Dwight Howard, CHA vs. NY ($8,800): The Hornets still have the slimmest of playoff hopes, so they haven't started to rest their star players yet. Howard has played well in their push to stay in the hunt, scoring at least 44.2 FanDuel points in five of his last seven games. The Hornets were blown out by the Knicks when these two teams met earlier this month, but Howard still managed to score 30.6 FanDuel points in only 27 minutes. There are a lot of great centers in action Monday, but Howard's upside is right up there with all of them.

Enes Kanter, NY at CHA ($6,300): Kanter went through a stretch earlier this month where he was receiving fewer minutes, but he has logged at least 27 minutes in three straight games. He posted a double-double in each contest, which is not surprising since he is averaging a double-double for the season. His upside is limited based on his potential for uncertain playing time, but his price is also dropping. It's low enough now to make him worth considering if you don't want to pay up for one of the elite options.

Greg Monroe, BOS at PHO ($5,500): Monroe had a bad offensive performance Sunday, scoring only four points in 20 minutes against the Kings. He was just 2-for-10 from the field, which is an outlier night considering he is shooting 57.4% this season. His former team in the Suns allows the third-most FanDuel points per game (54.6) to opposing centers, so don't expect similar struggles from Monroe on Monday.
