FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards:

Kemba Walker, CHA vs. IND ($7,000): When looking at Walker's recent stat lines, it's easy to see why he's dropped all the way to $7,000, but he still have way too much upside to be priced this cheap. In fact, Walker has been hovering around a $9,000 price tag for the majority of the season and has averaged 36.4 fantasy points per game. One variable that needs to be considered is the fact that this is Charlotte's last home game of the season, which means Walker should see his regular minutes and possibly an increased role in this circumstance. Walker has killed Indiana this season too, averaging 44 fantasy points per game in his two prior meetings against them.

Jaylen Brown, BOS vs. ATL ($5,500): With so many injuries in Boston, Brown has been asked to take on a much bigger load over recent weeks. In fact, Brown leads the Celtics starters with a usage rate of 25 percent in his last five games, while scoring at least 34 fantasy points in three of those outings. What adds to his intrigue is the fact that Al Horford and Jayson Tatum are expected to be limited here, as both players are being managed ahead of the playoffs. The icing on the cake is the matchup though, with Atlanta allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing guards.

D.J. Augustin, ORL at TOR ($4,400): Augustin has been starting ever since Elfrid Payton was traded and it's strange to see his price drop so much here. In fact, Augustin was $5,700 just two games ago and he's still averaging over 25 fantasy points per game in his last 11 outings. That's 6X value for a $4,400 player and there's no reason why he shouldn't play at least 20 minutes here. What also makes him enticing is the fact that he faces a Raptors team that just clinched the top seed in the East, so they may choose to rest key players in this circumstance.

Forwards:

Ersan Ilyasova, PHI vs. DAL ($5,800): Ilyasova has been a stud since Joel Embiid (face) went down, as he's been starting in his absence. In his last five games, Ilyasova is averaging 34 fantasy points per game while playing nearly 30 minutes. His usage and shot attempts are impressive during that span too, considering he has a 23 percent usage rate while averaging over 12 shots per game. Dallas is very weak against power forwards right now, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points to the position in their last 10 outings.

Johnathan Motley, DAL at PHI ($5,200): Motley has come out of nowhere to pick up a monster role with the Mavericks, as he's played at least 40 minutes in back-to-back games. That's the nature of the NBA at the end of the year, which has allowed him to combine for 71.5 fantasy points in those two games as well. This is simply a case of his overall price not catching up to this role and Dallas will surely continue to give him monster minutes in a meaningless game. In addition, Philly has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards in their last five games.

Amir Johnson, PHI vs. DAL ($4,100): Johnson has been starting alongside Ilyasova since Embiid went down, which has elevated him into fantasy relevance. In fact, Johnson has at least 19 fantasy points in five-straight games, which is nearly a 5X floor. Dallas is really struggling with centers right now too, allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to the position in their last 10 games.

Centers:

Greg Monroe, BOS vs. ATL ($5,800): Monroe is coming off his first triple-double of the season in his most recent outing and he should continue to be used heavily with all of the injuries in Boston. Not only is Kyrie Irving still out, Al Horford is expected to see limited minutes here, which means Monroe should build off of his 53-FanDuel-point gem on Friday. He's averaging 33 fantasy points per game in his last five outings. The matchup may be the best part of this play though, as he faces an Atlanta defense that allows the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season.

Myles Turner, IND at CHA ($5,500): Turner has been mired in a slump the last few weeks, but he's too good to see a price drop this big. That's evident by the fact that he's averaging 29 fantasy points per game for the season, while hovering closer to $7,000 for the majority of the year. Turner has had success against Charlotte this season too, averaging over 38 fantasy points per game in two meetings against them. If he can reach that average, he'll provide an elite 7X value and allow you to get multiple other studs in your lineup.
