FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Tuesday brings two games on the NBA schedule and the return of the full roster contests on FanDuel. It still leaves you with limited options for your entry, but that doesn't mean you can't finish the night with a winning lineup.

Guards

Jrue Holiday, NO at GS ($8,400): Holiday had foul issues in Game 1 and shot only 4-of-14 from the field, finishing with 20.6 FanDuel points. He shot 49.4% from the field during the regular season, so don't expect him to struggle from the field like he did in Game 1 often. He'll have some tough defensive assignments in this series, but look for him to rebound with a better game Tuesday.

Rajon Rondo, NO at GS ($7,400): The Pelicans finally lost a playoff game after sweeping the Blazers, but Rondo played well with 39.1 FanDuel points in Game 1. It was a prime example of his ability to provide value despite his limited offense, scoring only nine points, but also logging eight rebounds and 11 assists. He might not provide many points again Tuesday, but expect him to contribute enough across the board to be a viable option.

Fred VanVleet, TOR vs. CLE ($2,500): VanVleet was a very important part of the Raptors bench during the regular season, but played only two games in the first round due to a shoulder injury. It was a positive sign that he played 19 minutes in their last game Friday, scoring 14.8 FanDuel points. He's had even more time to rest, so he could be in line for similar playing time Tuesday. His ceiling isn't very high, but he becomes someone to consider at this dirt cheap price.

Forwards

LeBron James, CLE at TOR ($13,000): James put the Cavaliers on his back in the first round, scoring at least 54.4 FanDuel points in six of seven games against the Pacers. With little support from his teammates, he logged at least 40 minutes in all six of those games and scored at least 44 points in three separate contests. This is going to be an even tougher task against the Raptors, so expect James to continue to have a heavy usage rate.

Draymond Green, GS vs. NO ($8,800): Green did it all in Game 1 on his way to 62.5 FanDuel points, posting a triple-double to go along with three steals and two blocks. He only played 30 minutes too, making the final line even more impressive. Stephen Curry (knee) is listed as probable for Game 2 and his return could limit the amount of time Green has the ball in his hands. Both teams play at a fast pace though and this should be a high-scoring series, making Green an excellent option again Tuesday.

Serge Ibaka, TOR vs. CLE ($4,700): Ibaka appeared to be in line for a big series against the Wizards out of the gate, scoring at least 32.8 FanDuel points in both of the first two games. It was downhill from there though, scoring 15.1 FanDuel points or fewer in three of the next four contests. The Wizards were one of toughest teams against opposing power forward during the regular season, so Ibaka is probably happy to move on to the Cavaliers, who have issues defensively. If you want to go the cost-effective route at power forward, Ibaka is someone to consider.

Centers

Jonas Valanciunas, TOR vs. CLE ($6,500): Valanciunas' performance in the first round was a microcosm of his regular season. He showed upside by scoring at least 36.4 FanDuel points three times during the series, but scored 25.5 FanDuel points or fewer in each of the other three contests. He only played more than 30 minutes in a game twice, which doesn't help with his ability to provide consistent production. However, if you don't want to pay up for Anthony Davis ($12,700), Valanciunas does at least have upside.

Tristan Thompson, CLE at TOR ($2,000): After barely playing in the first six games, Thompson started and played 35 minutes in Game 7. It proved to be a wise move by the Cavaliers, resulting in Thompson recording a double-double on his way to 31.5 FanDuel points. They'll need his size to battle with Valanciunas in this series, so he should get more playing time moving forward. At this extremely low price, it might make sense to take a chance on Thompson for your entry.
