Matsuyama closed with a two-under 70 on Sunday at the Valero Texas Open to finish nine-under and tied for 21st.
ANALYSIS
Matsuyama recorded four consecutive rounds of 70 or better at TPC San Antonio, where he ultimately ranked third among the field in SG: Off-the-Tee and ninth in SG: Approach en route to 15 total birdies and an eagle across 72 holes. However, he lost a season-worst three strokes around the green while also converting just one of four sand save opportunities. Matsuyama will be in attendance again this week for the Masters where he won a green jacket back in 2021.
