Ramirez (elbow) was
reinstated from Single-A Fredericksburg's 7-day injured list July 26 and assigned to the rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Analysis
The FCL season concluded July 25, so the Nationals may just have elected to assign Ramirez to the affiliate in an effort to manage the 23-year-old right-hander's workload coming off a major injury. Prior to beginning his rehab assignment in the FCL on June 27, Ramirez hadn't pitched in affiliated ball since September 2021 after a lengthy recovery from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent in the spring of 2022. Over his eight FCL appearances, Ramirez struck out seven batters and gave up 10 earned runs on nine hits and five walks across nine innings.
