Will develop as starter

The Astros plan to have Brown work as a starter, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Brown, who was selected in the third round (101st overall) of the 2020 MLB draft, was used as a reliever and closer at Vanderbilt University, which won the College World Series in 2019. The right-hander brings a four-pitch mix with a fastball that touches 96 mph and a low-effort delivery. "I think the kid believes he's a starter as well. He'd be a starter at a lot of the colleges across the country. We're optimistic Tyler can toe the slab every fifth day," said Astros supervisor of national scouting Kris Gross.
