Nicks has been cut by the Saints, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.

Nicks joined New Orleans only a couple weeks ago but apparently has failed to make a strong impression since then. Additionally, given some of the Saints' young receivers, namely Michael Thomas, Willie Snead and Brandon Coleman, the team would probably prefer to use as many snaps as possible to aid their development, leaving the 28-year-old Nicks on the outside looking in. With his best days clearly behind him, Nicks will hope to land elsewhere during the preseason slate.
