Chaney signed with the Falcons on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chaney, who was released by the Eagles in late August, will be brought in to support an LB corps that took a hit due to Sean Weatherspoon (foot) landing on the IR/designated-to-return list. Even though he's more of a middle linebacker, Chaney seems poised to earn modest reps, at the very least, after racking up 158 tackles across 43 games during his first three seasons. He'll compete with fellow signing Omar Gaither for snaps at weak-side linebacker.
