NHL Playoffs: Why is fighting still allowed?

  • Andrei Svechnikov was out cold before he hit the ice. Alexander Ovechkin is 40 lbs of man muscle heavier than him. Why is fighting still allowed?
  • Mitch Marner is the epitome of team. The poster boy for selflessness (I sure hope that foot isn't broken). Quite the contrast to number 43, eh?

  • Nathan MacKinnon is a one-man wrecking crew. I wish I'd watched more Avs' games this season.
  • Warren Foegele just needed opportunity. A couple injuries and suddenly, he's scoring like Nikita Kucherov. Oh wait -- Foegele has four points in three games and Kucherov has ... right.
  • Welcome to the NHL, Cale Makar. I have him and Quinn Hughes in the same keeper league. Yes, I'm a little giddy.
  • Fit is everything. Just ask Dougie Hamilton and Petr Mrazek, who weren't good enough for their previous teams.
  • Andreas Johnsson needs to stay in Toronto. And play with Auston Matthews. Now just get William Nylander some wingers.
  • So, the Patrice Bergeron/Brad Marchand/David Pastrnak line is the best line in hockey. But the John Tavares/Mitch Marner/Zach Hyman is the best line in this series.
  • "hope he lets me sit next to Claude on the plane." I love Gritty. Alain Vigneault doesn't know what he has gotten himself into. And it has nothing to do with what's on the ice.
  • Rocco Grimaldi. Yet another goal. I have a soft spot for guys who are shorter than me.
