Sunday Fantasy Pickup: Justin Bour, 1B, Marlins

Justin Bour has bumped his batting average up a whopping 27 points, while also smacking five home runs and 17 RBI, since June 10. With a current slash line of .273/.342/.535 and 14 home runs, Bour is on pace for an excellent season. It's a shame that he is even available in some leagues right now.

Even though we're just about at the halfway mark, and only comparing to Bour's 2015 season, there are other positive signs that Bour's game is starting to flourish, including a lower K% (19.8), a higher BB% (9.9) and a booming ISO (.263). Bour ranks among the league leaders in ISO, sharing space with the likes of Josh Donaldson, Kris Bryant and Carlos Beltran. The one knock on Bour is that Marlins manager Don Mattingly feeds a bit too much into the splits, as Bour's power comes strictly against right-handed pitching. Bour has only received 21 at-bats this season against lefties, which is why he's only amassed 198 at-bats to this point. It's something to think about moving forward, but at some point you have to figure Mattingly will trot Bour out more against lefties. If he doesn't? That's alright; I'm willing to overlook it with Bour's rising ISO against righties.
