No. 1 Florida Gators: Projected Rotation & Season Outlook
In an era in which you see very little roster retention, Florida will return six of its top-seven scorers from last season. This is a team that should be able to have all things firing from the jump.
Florida absolutely wore opposing teams down last season with its size and physicality. Thomas Haugh, Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu all coming back will keep that in tact. All three could have gotten drafted if they left for the NBA. The 2025 champs will be heavily motivated to knock the bad taste out of their mouth after falling in the Round of 32 to Iowa.
Urban Klavzar, Isaiah Brown and CJ Ingram all should continue to improve and be factors in the rotation this season. Florida also signed three international freshman led by big man Arturas Butajevas, who should challenge for a rotation spot throughout the season.
Denzel Aberdeen is the last piece that should completely bring this team together. He started his career with the Gators before transferring to Kentucky last season, where he starred as a feature option, averaging 13.5 points and 3.4 assists per contests. His familiarity with the system should allow him to get immediately back up to speed and give the Gators a strong backcourt option to go along with that sensational frontcourt.
This is the clear No. 1 team going into next season, and coach Todd Golden will have zero excuses given all the familiarity he has with this roster. Anything less than an SEC Championship and a Final Four appearance would be a complete failure.
