Thorpe (ankle) has been cleared to play in Monday's exhibition against Southern Connecticut State, Mike Waters of Syracuse.com reports.

The transfer from South Florida is set to take part in his first in-game action for Syracuse after dealing with an ankle injury over the last few weeks. After averaging 15.1 points and 4.6 assists last season, the graduate transfer is expected to hold down a fairly sizable role with his new team, though we should get a clearer idea of where he'll fit in to the rotation following Monday's exhibition. Thorpe should be all systems go ahead of the regular-season opener on Friday against Cornell.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thorpe will not play in the team's scrimmage Friday due to a rolled ankle, Chris Carlson of Syracuse.com reports.

Head coach Jim Boeheim said that there isn't any cause for concern, and that Thorpe will be ready to go long before the beginning of the season. The South Florida graduate transfer is expected to play major minutes for the Orange this season after averaging 15.1 points and 4.6 assists for the Bulls last year.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thorpe will transfer to Syracuse, Mike Waters of Syracuse.com reports.

Thorpe, a South Florida graduate transfer, will be immediately eligible in 2017-18. He averaged 15.1 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 33.0 minutes per game last season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thorpe doesn't intend to play for South Florida in 2017-18, Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Thorpe is set to graduate from South Florida this spring, making him immediately eligible to play next season wherever he transfers. The guard is averaging 15.1 points, 4.6 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 33.0 minutes per game, so he should generate interest from several other high-major programs. It's unclear where he will go, but expect him to explore his options over the next several months now that the 7-23 Bulls' season has drawn to a close.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thorpe (ankle) scored 25 points (11-19 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go with six assists and three steals Sunday against Temple.

The Bulls' current leading scorer got back on the floor Sunday after missing two games with an ankle injury. It appeared that his ankle injury was behind him as he erupted for a career-high 25 points while shooting an impressive 58 percent from the field. With Jahmal McMurray no longer with the program, look for Thorpe to remain a focal point in the Bulls' offense.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thorpe (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Memphis, Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Time reports.

South Florida will be without its starting point guard yet again Thursday as Thorpe continues to deal with an ankle injury. Thorpe's absence also means that the Bulls will have to replace their primary backcourt scorer. Michael Bibby figures to start at point guard in place of Thorpe.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thorpe had a team-high 16 points (4-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 8-9 FT) and added four rebounds, four assists, and three steals in a loss to Tulane on Wednesday.

Thorpe has now managed to score in double figures in 11 games this season. He also tied a season high with three steals. The 6-4 junior is averaging 13.7 points, 4.0 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 33.8 minutes per game. Thorpe is averaging 12 shot attempts per game but shooting just 37 percent from the field. He will look to have a better shooting game against Memphis this Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Thorpe will leave the Penn State program, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports.

It remains unclear why Thorpe will not return to the Nittany Lions, but it appears it was in his best interest to find somewhere else to finish his collegiate career. Thorpe was a solid role player during the 2014-15 season, finishing with season averages of 8.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. There hasn't been any insight on where he could transfer to, so we'll have to wait and see where Thorpe decides to play.
