It's unclear exactly what happened, but either way, the Mountaineers will be losing one of their top contributors and a major veteran presence. Ahmad appeared to be in head coach Bob Huggins' doghouse as recently as January, when he was a healthy scratch for a mid-month showdown with Oklahoma State. It appears the West Virginia coaching staff had enough and simply dismissed Ahmad from the program for his undisclosed actions. No word has come forth if Ahmad will look to transfer schools following this development. Lamont West, Derek Culver and Jermaine Haley may play bigger roles in Ahmad's stead.
