Kegler will transfer to Baylor, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Kegler is coming off an impressive freshman year with Mississippi State after posting averages of 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 28.2 minutes. While he'll have to sit out the 2017-18 season due to the current NCAA transfer rules, Kegler will offer Baylor a young and upcoming option in the backcourt to groom for the future one he's eligible for his sophomore year at the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kegler has received his release and will transfer from Mississippi State, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Kegler was Mississippi State's starting power forward, so this is a big blow to the Bulldogs. As a freshman, he averaged 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 28.2 minutes per game. It is unclear why Kegler chose to transfer. He'll become a top target, as he will have three years of eligibility remaining and a year of collegiate starting experience after sitting out in 2017-18 per NCAA transfer rules.

Kegler led his team in scoring Tuesday against South Carolina, contributing 12 points (3-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

Kegler has been having a respectable freshman year, averaging an efficient 10.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. He's managed to notch double-digit points in over half of his games this year, and sees the court for an average of 28.3 minutes. Although he hasn't exploded for any high-scoring games, he's definitely one to keep an eye on in future matchups.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kegler is expected to be part of Mississippi State's starting lineup Friday against Norfolk State, The Clarion-Ledger reports.

Kegler possesses good size and strength for the small forward spot he will likely fit into and has the ability to score. However, Missippi State has other offensive options in I.J. Ready and Quinndary Weatherspoon that will likely lead the offense. Kegler's overall role should be sorted out early in the season.

Kegler was cleared by the NCAA and is fully eligible for the 2016-17 season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Kegler was waiting for academic clearance, but is now expected to join the team without any restrictions. He'll be able to play right away, offering the Bulldogs a big body that can score in the paint, but can also shoot the ball with some range. A more defined role should be given for Kegler once the upcoming season approaches and he's had the opportunity to go through a number practices with the team.

Kegler did not travel to Italy because he is still waiting for academic clearance, CBS Sports reports.

Kegler is a 6-7, 230 lb forward who averaged 18.5 points for Oak Hill Academy last season. He was considered the top prospect from Mississippi and was a teammate of former Mississippi State guard Malik Newman. Kegler can score in the paint and has some range on his jumper, but he will need to get his academic house in order to play.
