Middle Tennessee State coach Nick McDevitt announced April 2 that Butler would transfer out of the program, Luis Torres of The Murfreesboro Daily News Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Butler spent only one year at Middle Tennessee State after transferring into the program following his sophomore season at Seminole State College. He was expected to sit out the 2018-19 campaign in accordance with NCAA transfer rules, but received a waiver that allowed him to gain eligibility in early December. He went on to play in just four games and was diagnosed with a concussion at one point, but the head injury isn't expected to be much of a concern as he moves on to his next school
