Eric McClellan: Leads Bulldogs to WCC tournament championship
McClellan tallied a team-high 20 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-9 FT), adding three rebounds and two assists in Tuesday's WCC championship victory over Saint Mary's.
ANALYSIS
McClellan typically comes to play against the Gaels, as he collected 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting in a matchup against them earlier this season. The senior has really turned up his scoring of late, averaging 20.3 PPG in his last three contests -- nearly double his season average of 10.6 PPG. The lost of 2014-15 assist leader Kevin Pangos adversely impacted the Gonzaga backcourt earlier in the season, but the current trio of McClellan, Josh Perkins and Kyle Dranginis have really started coming into their own in the later parts of the year. Having now won five straight, McClellan and the Bulldogs should be a tough out in the dance.
