Adel put up a team-high 20 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and added five rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal in a loss to Seton Hall on Sunday.

The 6-7 junior is far and away the best scoring option on the Cardinals as he is the only player averaging double-figures at 17.2 PPG. Adel has raised his field goal percentage from 42 to 51 percent this season as well. Louisville will host Siena on Wednesday next.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Adel finished with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals Tuesday at Purdue, hitting only 5-of-15 from the floor.

While Adel was one of three Cards in double-figures, it's the third straight game where he's shot under 50 percent. He's taken a nice statistical leap across the board as a junior, and is contributing in all categories, but his first outing against a Power 5 opponent left room for improvement.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Adel had a game-high 21 points (7-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-8 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block, and a steal in the win over Omaha on Friday.

This game comes on the heels of a 20 point effort in the season opener, meaning Adel has already matched his total from last season with two games of at least 20 points. It will likely be the junior's job to put the Cardinals on his back and take them as far as he can. Louisville will take on Southern Illinois on Tuesday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Adel had a team-high 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting, and grabbed seven rebounds in Tuesday's exhibition victory over Bellarmine, Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal reports.

Despite all of the distraction brought on by the FBI probe that led to the dismissal of head coach Rick Pitino, the team still returns two of their top three scorers from a year ago in Adel (12.1 PPG) and point guard Quentin Snider (12.4 PPG). Adel certainly has the physical tools to be the offensive catalyst on this year's unit, as he put his athleticism on display with a thunderous one-handed dunk in the exhibition. He's expected to take over much of the production left behind by fellow wing Donovan Mitchell (15.6 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 2.7 APG), which means Adel could be in for a game-changing fantasy season. Though the team lost Mitchell and forward Jaylen Johnson, as well as top recruit Brian Bowen due to the scandal, it would be unwise to sleep on the Cardinals in the ACC.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Adel (thumb) has used his rehab time to work on his left-handed dribbling, The Courier-Journal reports.

Adel suffered a thumb injury in June that cost him six weeks of offseason workouts, but with the team beginning official practices Sunday, it appears this ailment is a thing of the past. Of course, Adel and the Cardinals have a multitude of other distractions to deal with, but fortunately for the junior, an injury doesn't look like it will be one of them. On the court, Adel broke out as a sophomore, averaging 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and shooting 42.2 percent from the field. With Donovan Mitchell and his 15.6 PPG scoring average headed to the NBA, Adel will have to team up with guard Quentin Snider to produce the majority of Louisville scoring in 2017-18. Adel, Snider and senior forward Anas Mahmoud will serve as the team captain's in what will be a challenging year for the beleaguered Cardinals program.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Adel is expected to be medically cleared to play in late August following thumb surgery, Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal reports.

Adel suffered from the injury in June and has missed the last six weeks of offseason workouts as a result, but it appears as though rehab has been going just find for himand he should be making a full recovery. Adel is coming off a strong campaign for the Cardinals last season where he averaged 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and with the departure of Donovan Mitchell to the NBA, he'll likely take on an even larger role at shooting guard and on the wing.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Adel will return to Louisville next season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

With one of its most pivotal centerpieces back for 2017-18, Louisville figures to be near the top of the ACC once again. Adel took a major leap forward for the Cardinals during his sophomore campaign (12.1 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 2.1 APG). The 6-foot-7 forward is very active on the defensive side of the ball and could be a breakout star next year.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Adel is entering the NBA Draft but will not hire an agent, Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal reports.

Adel (6-7, 201) will test out the draft process this spring and has until May 24 to make his final decision. He moved into a prominent role as a sophomore this season, averaging 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds over 33 games -- including 30 starts. Adel also ended the season on a strong note with 16.3 points on 53.8 percent shooting over his final six games. If he returns to Louisville for his junior season, the Cardinals will be a force to be reckoned with in the ACC.
