Drops appeal, accepts expulsion
Lynch (suspension) accepted his expulsion from the University of Minnesota on Thursday after dropping his appeals and will not return to the basketball team, Myron Medcalf of ESPN reports. He intends to turn pro after the season.

Lynch was suspended indefinitely after being deemed "responsible" for two separate instances of sexual assault that allegedly occurred in 2016. He was going through the appeals process through the school's Student Sexual Misconduct Subcommittee before ultimately deciding to drop said appeals Thursday. Lynch will now attempt to make it in the NBA, but the severity of the allegations against him will make for a difficult path unless he is cleared.
