Transfers to Buffalo
Nickelberry committed April 21 to join Buffalo in 2019-20 as a transfer from Trinity Valley Community College (Texas), The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
A top-150 recruit from the Class of 2017, Nickelberry began his career at Memphis, averaging 2.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 10.9 minutes per game as a freshman before leaving after Penny Hardaway replaced Tubby Smith as coach. Since the 6-foot-6 wing spent the past campaign in the JUCO ranks, he'll be available to compete immediately for Buffalo with two years of eligibility remaining. He should have ample opportunity to claim minutes with the Bulls losing five key players to graduation from the 2018-19 squad.
