Resuming basketball career
Hinson informed the South Carolina football staff in late August that he will give up the sport and transfer to another program to play basketball, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.

Hinson had been a two-sport athlete at South Carolina, appearing in 46 games (17 starts) over three seasons on the hardwood. The 6-foot-4 guard decided to quit basketball in February and focus on football on a full-time basis, but he reversed course shortly after being diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat that required an operation. Hinson is expected to receive full clearance before the 2019-20 basketball season begins, but he won't have much time to find an opporunity at another school.
