Wilson is among many seniors who have an extra year of collegiate eligibility as compensation for their participation in the NCAA's 2020-21 season, which was shortened due to COVID-19. He averaged 4.4 points and 3.5 rebounds across his 36 games for the 2023-24 Cougars. Assuming they maintain Jamal Shead and Emanuel Sharp as expected, especially after keeping LJ Cryer, Wilson will remain a reserve. If all re-enroll at Houston, the next question becomes whether or not he can be UH's sixth man.
