Banks announced April 17 via his personal Twitter account that he has committed to Chattanooga, joining the program as a transfer from James Madison.
ANALYSIS
Banks arrives at Chattanooga coming off three seasons of full-time starting duty at James Madison. As a junior in 2019-20, Banks averaged 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 three-pointers, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals in 32.2 minutes per game while shooting 36.1 percent from the field. Since he's not believed to be a graduate transfer, Banks would require a waiver in order to suit up for the Mocs in 2019-20. Since he entered the transfer portal following the March 9 firing of James Madison head coach Louis Rowe, Banks may have a decent case for receiving a waiver.
