Can't get it going in NEC final
GWagner
March 8, 2022
Morales missed all 16 of his field-goal attempts in Tuesday's loss to Bryant in the NEC tournament final. He finished with three points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.
ANALYSIS
Morales won NEC Player of the Year the last two seasons, and he also copped Defensive Player of the Year this season; he's been the biggest star in this league. But Bryant had a terrific game plan for him, and when Morales did get to the rim, Hall Elisias (eight blocks) was often waiting. Wagner still has a reasonable chance at an NIT bid, where Morales surely would be expected to rebound. But it's fair to wonder if Morales's POY trophy this year truly belonged to Bryant's Peter Kiss.
