McCoy will miss Michigan's 2026-27 season after he tore his ACL in an exhibition game in Croatia in late August, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
This is a big blow for the Wolverines, as the five-star true freshman was set to make an impact right away in Ann Arbor -- likely as a starting shooting guard. Michigan's frontcourt has been banged up this offseason, but now their guards are beginning to go down as well. McCoy's injury could mean a potential starting role for Columbia transfer Kenny Noland, but the extent of the trickle-down effects of the former blue-chip recruit's injury remain to be seen.
