Saturday's CFL quadruple-header brings three immediate rematches from Labour Day Weekend, creating an unusually strong betting slate with recent matchup data.
We're backing Saskatchewan to complete the sweep against Winnipeg, targeting the league's most productive Canadian receiver to find the end zone and laying less than a field goal with the West Division-leading Elks at home.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Roughriders ML, -120 @ BetMGM
Saskatchewan needed overtime to beat Winnipeg 32-26 last week, but the underlying matchup still provides reasons to back the Roughriders again. Trevor Harris threw for 362 yards in that victory, while Dhel Duncan-Busby erupted for 10 catches and 148 yards as Saskatchewan repeatedly found ways to move the ball through the air. The Riders enter the rematch averaging 30.6 points and 411.4 yards per game compared to Winnipeg's 27.2 points and 350.3 yards.
Saskatchewan's defense has also been considerably stronger against the run, surrendering a league-low 70.3 rushing yards per contest, and the Blue Bombers have one of the best RBs in the league in Brady Oliveira. Winnipeg playing at home in the Banjo Bowl adds some risk, but taking Saskatchewan on the moneyline eliminates the need for another close game to produce margin. The Roughriders enter Week 15 at 8-4 after winning consecutive games and four of their last six, while Winnipeg sits at 6-6.
Montreal Alouettes
vs. BC Lions
Tyson Philpot anytime touchdown scorer, -105 @ FanDuel
Philpot's combination of volume and explosiveness makes this an attractive price for a receiver who has been one of the CFL's premier offensive weapons all season. Philpot has already accumulated 98 receptions for 1,414 yards and 10 touchdowns through 12 games, meaning he's found the end zone at a pace that makes near-even money appealing. Montreal also enters the rematch averaging a league-best 430.4 yards of offense, while Davis Alexander has gone 101 consecutive pass attempts without an interception.
Philpot and Tyler Snead have accounted for nearly 65 percent of Alexander's passing yardage, leaving little doubt about where Montreal wants the football in an important spot. With BC's offense capable of forcing another aggressive game script after last week's 37-30 Montreal victory, Philpot should have plenty of opportunities. Philpot enters Week 15 with 10 receiving touchdowns in 12 games and is on pace for 15 scores this season.
Calgary Stampeders
vs. Edmonton Elks
Elks to cover -2.5 spread, -127 @ bet365
Edmonton's 38-28 victory over Calgary last week was remarkable because the Elks had to erase an 18-point deficit, outscoring the Stampeders 24-3 in the fourth quarter to complete the largest comeback of the CFL season. That performance also provides a compelling argument for backing Edmonton in the rematch: the Elks won by double digits despite playing one of their poorest stretches of football of the season.
Calgary remains dangerous, as the Stampeders lead the CFL at 36.2 points per game, but Cody Fajardo, Justin Rankin and Austin Mack give Edmonton enough offensive firepower to keep pace, while playing the rematch at Commonwealth Stadium strengthens the case for laying less than a field goal. Edmonton enters Saturday at a West-leading 9-3 and seeking its fourth consecutive victory, while Calgary comes into the rematch at 5-7.
