RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White has suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the 2017 season.

White was pulled from Friday's contest against the Alouettes late in the first quarter and after undergoing tests following the game, he's now been diagnosed with a torn ACL. He'll finish the season with just 20 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown and will now start the long road to recovery. Travon Van is the favorite to start in his place, which should mean an increased workload out of the backfield for him moving forward.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White left Friday's 23-19 win over the Alouettes late in the first quarter with a knee injury and did not return.

He'd gained just eight yards on three carries prior to going down when he was stripped of the ball on a tackle by defensive end John Bowman. Fortunately for White and Edmonton the team is on a bye next week, so if the injury proves not to be serious the 25-year-old may not miss a start. If White's injury does keep him out for a longer stretch, though, look for Travon Van to get the nod in his place.

June 25, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White compiled 104 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in Saturday's 30-27 win over the Lions. He also totaled four yards on two receptions.

The 25-year-old running back was an ideal complement to Mike Reilly's effective downfield passing, ripping off several robust runs, including a game-high 43-yarder. White saw a career-high 164 carries in 2016 and parlayed them into high-water marks of 886 yards and eight touchdowns. If Week 1 is any indication, he could be in for an even more sizable role in the 2017 offense, considering the Eskimos lost a key component in Derel Walker this past offseason. White also proved capable of being an effective weapon through the air last season by notching a personal-best 58 receptions, and his ability to serve as a dual threat could make him a near must-play at the running back position each week this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White was held out of the Eskimos' second preseason game for precautionary reasons, according to the Edmonton Journal.

White ran six times for 30 yards in the Eskimos' preseason opener, and head coach Jason Maas decided that was all the work his top tailback needed during the exhibition season. It remains to be seen who will head into Week 1 as White's backup, as all of Travon Van, LaDarius Perkins, Kendial Lawrence, and Marion Grice have been effective during the preseason. Whoever lands the role is not likely to see much action unless White is forced to miss any action, as last year's backup Shakir Bell was regularly deemed a game-day scratch.

November 20, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (undisclosed) totaled 66 yards on 12 rushes and notched two receptions for two yards in Sunday's 35-23 Eastern Finals loss to the Redblacks.

White's opportunities were limited in the second half due to the Eskimos falling behind by a 25-3 margin, handicapping what had been a pivotal component of Edmonton's offense. White had wrapped up the regular season with three 100-yard efforts in his last four games, and had tallied at least 15 carries in each of those contests. Despite a disappointing conclusion to the season overall, the 25-year-old's arrow is certainly pointing up heading into 2017 after he compiled a career-best 886 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in 2016, while also achieving high-water marks in receptions (58) and receiving yardage (464).

November 20, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (undisclosed) is listed as the Eskimos' starting running back for Sunday's Eastern Final matchup with the Redblacks.

White missed a day of practice earlier this week for an unspecified reason, but it appears he is no worse for the wear, and will be part of Edmonton's starting backfield Sunday afternoon.

November 16, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White sat out of practice on Wednesday, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

It's unclear why White is sitting out, but there is a possibility that it could just be a routine maintenance way. There will likely be more updates on White's status closer to game time.

November 14, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White carried the ball 20 times for 160 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Tiger-Cats in the Eastern Semifinal.

He also caught one pass for 12 yards. The winds at Tim Hortons Stadium made it almost impossible for either passing game to get going, but White supplied all the offense Edmonton would need on the ground. Look for him to be a key part of their offense again next Sunday against the Redblacks in the Eastern Final.

November 4, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White is listed as a reserve running back on the depth chart for Saturday's game against the Argonauts.

White has been on a roll of late, so he is seemingly not in danger of ceding the starting running back job to Shakir Bell, who ran the ball well in White's absence earlier this season. Rather, the Eskimos are simply going to take it easy with some of their top players in their regular season finale, a group which White is a part of. The Eskimos have frequently scratched their backup running back this season, so White may not suit up at all in Week 20. However, expect him to be the lead back when Edmonton kicks off postseason play Nov. 13.

October 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White gained 132 yards on 15 carries in Friday's 29-26 win over the Ti-Cats.

White has come on significantly in the season's home stretch, having totaled 457 yards on the ground and five touchdowns over the last four games. Despite the Eskimos' well-earned reputation as a team wielding a prolific air attack, he's remained a vital cog in the offensive machine, with double-digit carries in six straight contests. He'll be back in the spotlight again for the Week 20 showdown with the Argos.

October 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White gained 76 yards and scored a touchdown on 11 carries and added 37 yards on two receptions in Saturday's 32-25 loss to the Lions.

White made the most of his 13 touches, getting into the end zone on the ground for the third straight week in the process. The 25-year-old's opportunities were somewhat capped due to the Eskimos' deficit throughout the contest, but he continues to play a pivotal role through both the ground and air. He'll take aim at the Ti-Cats defense in a key Week 19 matchup.

October 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White totaled 145 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and added 13 yards on five receptions in Monday's 40-20 victory over the Als.

The veteran tailback posted his second straight 100-yard performance after not reaching the milestone through the season's first 12 games. White has also now doubled his rushing touchdown total from that period of time over his last two games, tallying two scores apiece in Weeks 15 and 16. He's taken a major leap forward in the passing game this season as well, with his 56 receptions more than tripling his previous high of 17. White remains a major component of the Eskimos offensive juggernaut and is just 175 yards away from surpassing the career-high 852 rushing yards he managed in 2015.

October 10, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White is listed as the starting running back on the depth chart for Monday's game against the Alouettes.

White appeared poised to cede the starting job to fellow running back Shakir Bell as recently as two weeks ago, but an injury to Bell allowed White to not only play, but shine, in Week 15, and the Eskimos' depth chart signals that he will remain the team's primary running back in Week 16.

October 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White carried the ball 19 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns while adding seven catches for 64 yards in Friday's win over the Blue Bombers.

His shoulder wasn't an issue at all for him, and after looking like he'd have to come off the bench earlier in the week White ended up producing his best game of the season. Despite playing in just 11 games, White now sits fourth in the CFL in rushing yards on the season with 533.

September 30, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (shoulder) will start at running back Friday night against the Blue Bombers, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

White was expected to work as a reserve this week behind newly-named starting running back Shakir Bell, but Bell was injured at practice Wednesday, which leaves White to work as the starter Friday. It's not clear who will start in Week 16 and beyond, but White will presumably get a chance to reclaim the starting job Friday night.

September 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (shoulder) may start at running back Friday due to Shakir Bell's undisclosed injury, Eskimos announcer Morley Scott reports.

White recently lost the starting running back job to Bell, but he could start Friday if Bell is not able to recover in time. White has appeared in 10 games this season and has rushed 100 times for 429 yards and three touchdowns.

September 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (shoulder) will cede the starting running back duties to fellow running back Shakir Bell moving forward, according to the Edmonton Journal.

White practiced Monday for the first time in two weeks, according to Eskimos announcer Morley Scott, so it appears he is moving past his shoulder setback. However, even if he is ready to play this week, the Eskimos will stick with Shakir Bell, who ran effectively each of the last two weeks in White's absence. White could get seemingly get his job back before the season ends, but the Eskimos have been a one-running-back offense all year, so don't expect him to be a fantasy contributor in a reserve role.

September 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (shoulder) will not play Friday night against the Lions even though he remains on the 46-man roster, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Shakir Bell reportedly will draw the start at running back for the second consecutive week with White still ailing.

September 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (shoulder) is listed as the backup running back on the depth chart for Friday's game against the Lions.

White was listed in a similar spot last week but was scratched prior to game time, so he may be held out again Friday, and would likely not be the top back if he does suit up. Shakir Bell appears set to handle the running back duties for the Eskimos for the second week in a row.

September 18, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (shoulder) has been scratched from Sunday's matchup with the Roughriders, Dave Campbell of Inside Sports reports.

White suffered a shoulder injury during last Saturday's game against the Stampeders and was unable to practice throughout the week. He's still dealing with some lingering soreness in his shoulder and has officially been ruled out of Sunday's outing versus the Roughriders. With White on the sidelines, look for Shakir Bell to take over as the team's lead back.

September 16, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (shoulder) did not participate in Friday's practice, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

White's failure to practice throughout the week leaves little optimism for his status Sunday against the Roughriders. At this point it looks like Shakir Bell will get the start at running back for the Eskimos.

September 15, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (shoulder) did not take part in Thursday's practice, Eskimos broadcaster Morley Scott reports.

White has not practiced this week due to the shoulder injury he suffered in Week 12, leaving him questionable at best for Sunday's game against the Roughriders. If White is unable to go, Shakir Bell would step in as the Eskimos' primary running back.

September 13, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White injured his shoulder in Saturday's loss to the Stampeders and is questionable for this week's game against the Roughriders, 630 CHED Edmonton reports.

White was quiet in last week's loss, and it's possible the sore shoulder played a role in his lack of production. White's status will be determined later this week, and if he is unable to go, Shakir Bell would get the start in his place.

September 11, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White managed only 25 yards on 10 carries but added 49 yards on three receptions in Saturday's 34-28 overtime loss to the Stamps.

The veteran back was held to his lowest rushing total since Week 6 against the Blue Bombers, but found a way to contribute through the air. Coincidentally, White's receiving total was his highest since that same game, as he continues to find ways to generate production regardless of the flow of the contest.

September 6, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White carried the ball 11 times for 50 yards while adding four catches for 23 yards in Monday's loss to the Stampeders.

After missing Week 10 with a hand injury, White failed to post big numbers in his return. He's been solid this season but given Shakir Bell's huge performance in his absence, White may need to step it up if he wants to remain in the starting lineup.

September 4, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (hand) will start Monday's game against the Stampeders, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

White will return to action as the Eskimos' top running back after sitting out last week's matchup with the Roughriders. Fellow running back Shakir Bell was exceptional in Week 10 in White's absence, but he may be declared inactive in advance of Monday's game, in which case those with White in their lineups would not have to worry about him ceding any carries.

September 2, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (hand) took the first-team reps at running back during Friday's practice, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

White missed last week's game against the Roughriders due to his hand injury, but it appears that will be the extent of his absence, as he has been able to practice all week. White's status for Monday's matchup against the Stampeders will ultimately be determine when the Eskimos release their depth chart this weekend.

September 1, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (hand) was back on the practice field Thursday, Morley Scott of 630Ched.com reports.

White was put on the one-game injured list last week, but now it appears he's return to full health. Look for updates to come over the weekend about White's status for Monday's game against the Stampeders.

August 25, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (hand) was placed on the one-game injured list Thursday, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

White was unable to practice at all this week, so it comes as little surprise that he will not take the field in Friday's game against the Roughriders. The good news, however, is that he was placed on the shorter of the two injured list options, so he will have a chance to play in the Eskimos' next game Sept. 5. Shakir Bell will get the start at running back in Week 10 in White's absence.

August 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (hand) sat out practice Wednesday for the third day in a row, Eskimos announcer Morley Scott reports.

White has been unable to practice at all this week, which puts him in danger of sitting out Friday's game against the Roughriders. Shakir Bell is in line to get the start Friday if White is unable to go.

August 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White (hand) is not being ruled out to play Friday against Saskatchewan, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

It's unclear exactly when White injured his hand but head coach Jason Maas is saying the running back is merely day-to-day with the ailment and could play in Friday's game. If Edmonton reports that the 25-year-old is not healthy enough to play, Shakir Bell is likely to get the bulk of the carries in the Week 10 matchup.

August 22, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White is dealing with a hand injury and did not practice Monday as a result, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

White's absence from Monday's practice could put his status for Friday's game against the Roughriders in question. Shakir Bell, who's taking first team reps Monday, would likely get the nod at starting running back if White is sidelined for an extended period of time.

August 12, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White gained 66 yards on 13 carries and added 17 yards on four catches in Thursday's 23-12 victory over the Als.

The 25-year-old tailback served as an important complementary cog on the night, moving the chains on several occasions. It was notably the first game with double-digit carries for White since Week 4, and his highest yardage total since supplying a season-best 96 yards in Week 3. With his consistent involvement in the passing game as well, White shapes up as a viable fantasy option each week in the Eskimos' typically high-powered offense.

August 7, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White rushed for 33 yards on nine carries and added 24 yards on three receptions in Saturday's 23-20 loss to the Redblacks.

The 25-year-old tailback had a rather ordinary performance, but was reasonably effective with his opportunities. The nine carries represented White's highest total in that category since Week 4, but the three receptions were his lowest of the season. White has struggled in finding consistent running room overall this season, averaging just 3.5 yards per tote on his 59 carries.

July 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White gained only eight yards on four carries but added 89 yards on a season-high eight receptions in Thursday's 30-23 loss to the Blue Bombers.

The Utah product turned into Mike Reilly's second favorite receiver on the night, being targeted underneath often when the Blue Bombers successfully eliminated downfield options. The catches were a season best for White, and conversely, his four rushing attempts were a season low. White's heavy use in the passing game was at least partially a product of the Eskimos having to play in catch-up mode for a sizable chunk of the game, and he will likely return to a more balanced role in a Week 7 tilt versus the Redblacks.

July 24, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White gained 30 yards and a touchdown on eight carries and added 26 yards on four catches in Saturday's 37-31 loss to the Ti-Cats.

The 25-year-old tailback has now exceeded his touchdown figure from last season, and matched his CFL career total. The issue for White in the Eskimos offense is usually opportunity, as the game plan is usually heavily predicated on the right arm of Mike Reilly and the very capable hands of Derel Walker and Adarius Bowman. Despite his limited involvement, White appears to maximize his opportunities more often than not, and is clearly a trusted presence near the goal line. He'll look to continue his frequent visits to the end zone when the Eskimos take on the Blue Bombers in Week 6.

July 15, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White gained 23 yards on 10 carries and added 25 yards on five receptions in Thursday's 20-16 victory over the Blue Bombers. He also lost a fumble.

White was stymied by the Blue Bombers defense throughout the night on his way to his lowest rushing total over the first three weeks of the season. The 25-year-old back did equal his season high with five receptions, but his third-quarter fumble did come on the Eskimos 30-yard line, a mistake that was rectified when linebacker JC Sherritt was able to pick off Winnipeg's Drew Willy just two plays later. White will try to get back on track in Week 5 against a tough Ti-Cats defense.

July 9, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White carried the ball 17 times for 96 yards and a touchdown in Friday's win over the Roughriders.

He also chipped in four catches for seven yards. After racking up 1034 combined yards but just three TDs in nine games last year, White has come charging out of the gate in 2016 with 202 combined yards and three scores through just two games. If he continues to get into the end zone with more frequency than he did in 2015, White could be one of the CFL's breakout fantasy players this season.

June 26, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

White gained 43 yards on 11 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, while also hauling in five catches for 56 yards and notching a receiving touchdown in Saturday's 45-37 overtime loss to the Redblacks.

The University of Utah product was a versatile weapon for the Eskimos in the opener, managing to visit the end zone through both the ground and air. White began flashing some of those same skills in a 2015 campaign that saw him total 1,034 yards of total offense, and could play an important multi-purpose role once again in 2016. However, given quarterback Mike Reilly's return to full health-- and a pair of the more prolific wideouts in the league in Derel Walker and Adarius Bowman-- White's opportunities may be somewhat capped overall.
