Matocha was released by the Argonauts on Saturday in the final round of roster cuts, according to the CFL's official website.

ANALYSIS
Matocha signed with the Argonauts only a few days before the final game of the preseason, and even though he showed upside with his play, he didn't convince the coaching staff to give him a roster spot. He might get more opportunities with other teams in the CFL, though, as he was a record-setting quarterback in Division II football.
