ANALYSIS
Over his last two games, Johnson has 18 catches for 251 yards. Nevertheless, enthusiasm should be tempered when SMU goes to UCF in a week as the Knights rank first in the conference in pass defense, allowing just 200 yards a game and only six passing touchdowns on the season.

Johnson caught 79 passes for 1,118 yards and eight touchdowns last year despite seeing teammates Cole Beasley (86) and Terrance Wilkerson (44) haul in big reception totals, too. The latter pair were graduated, though, leaving Johnson with an even bigger opportunity this season. Questions at quarterback are the only reason he's not ranked higher.

While Beasley is the favorite, Johnson still has a chance to emerge as Southern Methodist’s top receiver in 2011. Playing as the third wideout behind Beasley and Aldrick Robinson as a sophomore last year, Johnson finished 2010 with 78 catches for 845 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games. That includes 18 catches for 257 yards and a touchdown in the final two games of the year.
