Manuel, a transfer from Golden West Community College and walk-on with the California Bears, is catching the attention of Cal's coaching staff at running back so far this spring, the Contra Costa Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Manuel not only broke off a 35-yard scamper this past Saturday as Cal held it's first scrimmage of the spring, but also scored on a short touchdown run. That led head coach Jeff Tedford to express following the scrimmage that Manuel "continues to impress" during spring drills, while adding, "He runs with great balance. He's very hard to knock off his feet. It's very hard for one guy to bring him down. He runs through tackles. He's solid."
