With the Wildcats adding junior college transfer Terry Wilson recently, the quarterback situation was once again going to be muddied heading into next season, so Barker has opted to go elsewhere. He'll be a graduate transfer and will be eligible immediately with a new program once a decision is made.

Kentucky made one of the offseason’s shrewdest hires by bringing in ex-Cincinnati Bearcat offensive coordinator Eddie Gran and quarterbacks coach Darin Hinshaw to Lexington. They figure to bring a high-flying, uptempo flare to the Kentucky offense that ought to create several mismatches for Barker to exploit.
