Utah: Dres Anderson Out For Season With Knee Injury
Knee
October 29, 2014
Anderson will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
The origin and nature of Anderson's injury is unclear, but it will likely cut his college career short. He currently ranks third in school history with 2077 yards. The senior has 355 yards this season and four touchdowns, but it appears that will be his stat line at the end of the season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2012
The son of former NFL player Flipper Anderson, Dres proved in 2013 that he's among the best in the country at the receiver position, catching 53 passes for 1,002 yards (18.9 YPC) and seven touchdowns, adding 30 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He'll have a chance to build on those numbers this year, as the big-play wideout gets his starting quarterback (Travis Wilson) back after a 2013 injury scare, and the offseason departures of Sean Fitzgerald, Jake Murphy and Anthony Denham leave 81 catches up for grabs from last year's offense.
Anderson was Utah’s leading receiver in 2012, but only caught 36 passes in 12 games for a total of 365 yards. With a 30.4 yards-per-game average and only three touchdowns on the season, Anderson may very well lead the Utes again, but his numbers certainly don’t warrant a spot on a fantasy roster, as there are many other teams who look for a lot more production out of their receivers.
Anderson is believed to be a talented player for Utah who should break out a bit in 2012, at least to the point of gaining relevance in Pac-12-only leagues. Quarterback Jordan Wynn returns from injury, and that alone will likely let Anderson improve on his 2011 totals of 23 catches for 355 yards and three scores. DeVonte Christopher looks like the man at wideout for Utah, though, so Anderson is worth a late pick in such Pac-12-only leagues at most.
