Past Fantasy Outlooks
2013
2012
2011
McHargue led the nation’s 67th-best passing attack last season, completing 59.7 percent of his passes for 2,209 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed for 667 yards and 11 scores - good for second and first on the team, respectively. McHargue took over the starting job midway through the 2011 season and will enter the fall as the number one signal-caller on the depth chart. However, Sophomore Driphus Jackson, who appeared in 11 games last season, could challenge McHargue for the starting gig should he struggle out of the gate.
McHargue split time at quarterback with Nick Fanuzzi last season. While they posted relatively similar numbers, Fanuzzi is now graduated and that means the starting job under center will be McHargue's for 2012. McHargue completed 57.5 percent of his passes last season while throwing eight touchdowns and only five interceptions in 174 passing attempts. His 6.2 yards per pass indicate a lack of passing skills, though, so McHargue is generally one to avoid in fantasy football.
This dual-threat passer had a very intriguing end to the 2010 season, taking over the previously dysfunctional Rice quarterback spot and posting some impressive numbers, though his workload was limited. He threw four touchdowns and one interception in the final two games of the year, running for 155 yards and a score at the same time. He's the favorite to start for Rice in 2011, and the team's Conference-USA schedule makes him one of the better sleepers at quarterback nationwide.
