Zach Olen

Olen enters his junior year as a third-year starter at placekicker for the Mean Green. As a freshman in 2010, he excelled, attempting 15 field goals and making 13 of them (86.7 percent). As a sophomore, however, he regressed. He was given a similar volume of opportunities, but his efficiency went way down. Olen hit only eight of his 16 field goal attempts (50 percent) and attempted 33 extra point attempts, making 32 of them. North Texas is hardly an offensive powerhouse so the extra point totals will not be high and so far in his career, Olen doesn’t seem like someone who will be hitting a high concentration of field goals.
