Jay Jones

Jones is a JUCO transfer who surprisingly took some first-team reps during the spring, after incumbent starter Demetre Bell was dismissed from the team. Jones didn’t exactly tear up the JUCO ranks – 504 yards and three touchdowns from 115 carries – and will now have to adjust to a higher level of competition. He has enough speed to make good use of his 5-foot-9, 180-pound frame, but will have to battle for carries with a group that includes three-star recruit Kaleb Blanchard and junior Kendall Houston.
