Moving on from Texas Tech
December 16, 2020
Vasher (knee) will declare for the 2021 NFL Draft, Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Vasher missed the Red Raiders' season finale after undergoing knee surgery. Rather than exercising his extra year of collegiate eligibility, Vasher will elect to prepare for his professional career after recording 19 receptions for 227 yards and two touchdowns in 2020.

2018
It was a tough year for Vasher in 2019 as he served a two-game suspension for violating team rules and underwhelmed with 42 catches for 515 yards and six touchdowns on 83 targets. He'll look to put that season behind him as he looks to fend off Erik Ezukanma as the top target in one of college football's most dynamic offenses. The Red Raiders and Vasher will certainly benefit from the return of a capable quarterback in Alan Bowman. When Vasher played much of the 2018 season with Bowman, he ammassed 54 catches for 687 yards and seven touchdowns.
The junior receiver is set to be the Red Raiders' top target with the departure of Antoine Wesley who posted a ridiculous 1,410 yards and nine touchdowns a year ago. Vasher wasn't too bad himself with 54 catches for 687 yards (12.7 YPC) and seven touchdowns. Vasher's wingspan and height provides returning starter Alan Bowman with a large and experienced target in a Texas Tech offense that projects to be one of the best in college football. Vasher should be owned across all fantasy leagues.
Vasher is a top breakout candidate for 2018. The 6-foot-6, 190-pound wideout finished his redshirt freshman season with 29 receptions for 545 yards and six touchdowns in a Texas Tech offense that lost its other five leading receivers from last year. The Red Raiders also lost starting quarterback Nic Shimonek, but the Texas Tech system waves off most or all concern on that front. After doing last year's damage on just 55 targets, Vasher figures to be a coveted fantasy asset now that his target count could realistically double with Keke Coutee and Dylan Cantrell gone.
