Will forgo potential fifth year
January 14, 2020
Young announced Tuesday via his personal Twitter account that he would forgo his redshirt senior season at Iowa in 2020 and instead enter the professional ranks.
ANALYSIS
With all of Tyler Goodson, Mekhi Sargent and Ivory Kelly-Martin set to return to the Iowa backfield in 2020, Young likely wouldn't have been in line for much more than a rotational role. He finished 2019 as Iowa's third-leading rusher, scampering for 432 yards and a touchdown on 81 carries (5.3 per-carry average).

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Buried behind Akrum Wadley and James Butler on the 2017 depth chart, Young amassed just 45 carries for 193 yards and two touchdowns. With the two seniors moving on, the redshirt sophomore is expected to be a major factor in the team's rushing attack this season. At 5-11, 220 pounds, Young won't outrun a ton of defenses, but his 4.3 yards per attempt bodes well as the power half of the team's running game. Ivory Kelly-Martin should complement his running style as the pass catcher and elusive back, giving the Hawkeyes new 1A and 1B options this season.
