RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
2011
2012
2013
2014
  1. Braxton Miller 2011 Preseason Outlook
Miller might have a hard time beating out Joe Bauserman for snaps initially, but it's generally expected that Miller will take over soon enough. The super recruit will be a tempting play for Ohio State's coaches as they attempt to get the program moving past the Terrelle Pryor era.
  2. Braxton Miller 2012 Preseason Outlook
Miller entirely lived up to his five-star recruit status as a true freshman last year, throwing for 13 touchdowns and four interceptions at 7.4 yards per attempt as well as running for 715 yards and seven touchdowns. This was despite dealing with suspensions and general dysfunction around him at Ohio State. Adding coach Urban Meyer to the mix – the passing guru who oversaw quarterbacks like Alex Smith, Chris Leak and Tim Tebow – it appears 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns through the air is within reach with 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. His rare speed and shiftiness are big problems for Big Ten defenses.
  3. Braxton Miller 2013 Preseason Outlook
If it weren't for Manziel and Lynch, Miller's 2012 performance would warrant some hysterical fantasy football hype. Miller was electrifying as he led the Buckeyes to an undefeated season, throwing for 2,039 yards (8.0 YPA), 15 touchdowns and six interceptions while running for 1,271 yards and 13 touchdowns. He did that despite leaving one game early and playing injured in at least one other game due to a neck issue, so Miller should be able to improve on his numbers this year if he stays healthy. It's worth noting, however, that Miller wore down towards the end of last year, so his owners might want to pair Miller up with a more passing-oriented quarterback in case Miller gets nicked up again towards the end of this year.
  4. Braxton Miller 2014 Preseason Outlook
If Miller was guaranteed to play all 12 games in 2014 he likely would be ranked as the top fantasy QB. He threw for 2,094 yards (8.2 YPA) and 24 touchdowns and ran for 1,068 yards (6.3 YPC) and 12 touchdowns last season, averaging 32.7 fantasy points per game. He's ranked this low due to durability concerns, however. He missed nearly three games last year due to a leg issue, believed to be an MCL sprain, and he underwent a minor throwing shoulder surgery last winter. When he's on the field, though, Miller is an elite fantasy workhorse.
