2018 Fantasy Outlook
He's expected to serve as the Monarchs' featured back in 2018, a role he filled for an extended stretch last season while standout Ray Lawry was sidelined with a torn hamstring suffered in the opener. Cox's season ultimately came to an end in early November, when he suffered a broken collarbone. The injury prevented Cox from taking contact in spring practices, with the running back relaying that the lack of activity caused his weight to balloon to 240 pounds. Cox had intended to gain weight after playing in the 215-to-220 range as a junior, but he's since dropped down to 230, which he feels is an ideal target for his straight-ahead running style. With Lawry having since moved on to the NFL, look for Cox to handle the bulk of the carries for Old Dominion in his final season with the program.
